Genesis-Creation and Redemption

Creator of Heavens and Earth

If you visited my blogs in the past you are aware that I am a Christian Right kind of guy. What the Bible says is what I believe. Now saying that I am going to state something that will make some disagreeable and others agreeable. I am not a the-earth-was-created-6000-years-ago kind of guy.

During the period of 1650 to 1654 Protestant Bishop James Ussher published his studies of the age of the Earth as chronicled literally in the Bible. His published conclusion was that God created the Earth in 4004 BC (Before Christ). Ussher’s scholarship based on the literal time data derived from the Bible is actually quite brilliant.

I however, do not believe time periods in the Bible – or at least in the Old Testament – are not literal according to material linear time. You see I do believe God made Creation ex nihilo by speaking His handiwork into existence. BUT I believe God’s twinkling of the eye is not something that can be measured accurately in human corporeal understanding. The Eternal dimension of God’s dwelling is immeasurable.

The Genesis Creation epic God has allowed us to see in His Word, I believe, is not in the realm of 24 hour human understanding.

8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3: 8-9 NKJV)

This tells me that human linear time does not measure up to God’s plan as it pertains to human reasoning. And the one day/thousand years comparison then should not be taken literally either. Although I don’t think it is impossible for God Almighty to make creation in 24 hour periods; however that which humans can measure seems to indicate that God did not take that path. So I am not going to commit myself to believing creation happened in terms of thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands or millions of years or whatever human concept of time.

Now granted the context of 2 Peter 3: 8-9 is that God is not slack in completing the Redemption plan of humanity. The first instalment of Redemption is that the Blood of Christ Redeems the human spirit by changing the old man corrupted by Adam’s Fall is created anew becoming a new person in Christ Jesus – behold old things have passed away and our human spirit is a new creation. Jesus Christ is coming back to Redeem humanity fully. Not just the human spirit but soul and body as well. The context in the Second Epistle of Peter is the coming Full Redemption of humanity; nevertheless it is an indication that our God who lives outside of time made his Creation according to an Eternal existence which in the material world could be measured in any number of ways that the Word of God tries to simplify for human comprehension.

Now I have quite probably taken too long to get to the point. I just read an article on WND which is a promotion of a movie production that is entitled “Genesis 3D”. The movie is the Creationism view is valid because it is the Word of God and Evolution is fallacious because it is thought of a man’s theory; viz., Charles Darwin.

I am a Creationist except for that 6000 year human measured chronology thing. Evolutionism is a theory that STILL is not a proven fact. The only verifiable data on Evolution is that changing environment can change the genetics of an organism as observed in short termed experimental evidence. Using short term evidence for long term conclusions is a stretch in which science utilizes predictions and conjectural constructs for a preconceived conclusion.

I will stick with the Word of God which to those who Believe by Faith know is Truth.

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. (Hebrews 11: 1-3 NKJV)

By “faith” God framed existence ex nihilo by His Spoken Word. Human theory cannot definitively paint a picture of existence’s beginnings when that theory is outside of the Word of God. AND as much as the proponents of science proclaims the theory is the truth, science has NEVER found the observable evidence that makes a validating connection to Evolutionary theory.

Here is the Truth as disseminated by the Word of God:

1 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

2 1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

4 This is the history[a] of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (Genesis 1; 2: 1-7 NKJV)

Dazzling new film made 'for entire world to witness truth of creation'

September 14, 2012

Coming soon to a theater near you: a depiction of the Bible’s creation account so lifelike, so real … you could actually believe it.

“Genesis 3D,” a technologically ambitious project of Sevenfold Films and Creation Today, is in development now, promising to be “the first, 3D, Christian movie about the very beginning of the Bible.”

Sneak peeks and scenes from the film are already drawing awe-struck praise.

“It’s like a time machine,” claimed Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis. “It takes you back in history as if you were there.”

“I was blown away, the graphics are stunning,” said evangelist and author Ray Comfort.

Alex Kendrick, well known for directing hit Christian films “Fireproof” and “Courageous” further said of “Genesis 3D,” “This is the way truth needs to be presented; we are raising the bar.”

And, of course, that’s exactly the point.

Eric Hovind, president of Creation Today and executive producer of “Genesis 3D,” told WND, “This project is made by Christians, funded by Christians, for the entire world to witness the truth of the creation week in a visual experience that has never been possible before today’s modern technology.

“By mixing the visual beauty of the creation in 3D with the information to answer skeptical questions, undoubtedly audiences will leave with an incentive to accept the truth of the Bible,” he added. “And for those who are already believers, they will have their faith fortified and strengthened considerably.”

A trailer for the film can be seen below:

To bring “Genesis 3D” to audiences, however, Hovind is asking Christian supporters to get involved – first by watching the trailer, then by sharing news of the film through their churches and social media contacts, and finally, beginning Sept. 19, by joining the “Genesis 3D,” 40-day, crowd-funding campaign.

“The film has been funded so far by a relatively small groups of investors, and it has always been the plan to demonstrate that the film is able to be produced and achieve a level of quality before we began pitching it to potential donors,” Hovind told WND. “The crowd-funding campaign has always been the essential strategy of the film to finish the production and get it into movie theaters, and we are confident that the Christian community will support the film due to its biblical paradigm and potential to impact people for Christ.”

Among the supporters so far is Jonathan Falwell, senior pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Va.

“I encourage you to get involved in this,” Falwell said. “I am so excited about this movie.”

“This is one of the most exciting movie projects I know about,” added Joseph Farah, CEO and editor of WND.com. “It’s a game changer!”

“The list keeps growing,” Hovind told WND, “as more and more people are attracted to the project. High-profile speakers, teachers, evangelists, ministers, pastors, filmmakers and churches are getting excited and involved in bringing Genesis to life through ‘Genesis 3D.’”

Hovind explained the goal is to get the film into theaters first and then to 3D Blu-ray and DVD.

“The success of our crowd-funding campaign will dictate precisely the marketing, distribution, international release and other considerations,” he said. “We are confident that the demand for the film will help motivate the Christian community worldwide to support it in order to have the largest reach possible and make it accessible to audiences everywhere in many different formats. … This project has been a step of faith the entire way and it is amazing to watch God provide exactly what we need.”
