Here is a Two-State Solution I can Run With

Jordan Is Palestine 5-24-11 NYC

In these days of President Barack Hussein Obama throwing Israel under the Arab-Muslim Jew-hating bus by demanding a Palestinian State that strips Israeli borders back to 1967 there was a lot of talk that a solution to Arab (i.e. Palestinian)/Israel conflict was a “Jordan is Palestine” solution.

This idea did not set well with Jew-hating Muslim nations surrounding Israel because they created a refugee problem by not taking responsibility for the displaced Arabs they created by attempting to destroy the new Jewish State in 1948.

The Kingdom of Jordan I believe always had a sympathetic agenda to normalize relations with Israel after the first 1948 war but pressure from surrounding Muslim nations whether actually involved in sending invasion troops or not to Israel had pressured King Abdullah I and later King Hussein into towing the hate-Jew/Israel line. That pressure always centered on the potential of the Hashemite House might lose a place to rule after being so influential even under Turkish rule. It was the Hashemite House (Modern Hashemite evolution) that cared for Meccan and Medina until the House of Saud rose up and gave the Hashemites the boot from the Muslim holy places.

At the end of WWI the British did not want a unified Arab world (and neither did competitor France) and so tribal fiefdoms were carved up into arbitrary Mandates, Protectorates and independent Muslim nations. Two Hashemite brothers were thus offered two carved out nations in Iraq and Transjordan. Most of the chunk of Transjordan was created from the original League of Nations British Mandate of Palestine which came into existence after the Turks were given the boot back to Turkey. Frankly I am uncertain how Iraq’s tribal areas were divided into the Iraq nation except that the Kurds were in the north; the Shias were in the east and the lesser population of Sunni Arabs to the west.

The Hashemite brother became King of Syria and was deposed by the French. The British then made Faisal the King of Iraq and was quite successful even though the Muslims of that British carved out nation had little information of their new king. King Faisal I desired to make Iraq a hegemonic power among Arabs with dreams of a Pan-Arab union government with himself as the king of the Arabs. Who knows what would have happened in this area because beginning to gain favor with his subjects in Iraq and he definitely had a following in French controlled Syria whence he had been deposed. King Faisal I died in July 1933 ending that Pan-Arab dream.

Faisal’s I son then became King Ghazi of Iraq and reigned from 1933 – 1939. Ghazi had the same Pan-Arab visions of his father; however he became enamored with Hitler’s Nazi Germany. It is possible Ghazi’s Nazi sympathies led him to support a coup of the Iraq military to end Iraq’s civilian government. A mysterious car accident took his life in 1939 which many felt was an assassination.

Ghazi’s son Faisal became King Faisal II; however he was just a kid. Faisal’s II uncle was the regent to the Iraq throne until the age of majority in 1953. While Faisal II was a minor, the Nazi sympathizers among the Iraq military embarked on another coup in Iraq that resulted in the uncle’s regency being dethroned – momentarily. Transjordan’s British trained Arab Legion and the British Royal Air Force beat down the Nazi sympathizing Iraqis reinstalled the regency and the throne of Faisal II. Faisal II came to the age of majority assuming the reigns of monarchy in 1953.  Faisal II found himself deposed in relatively short fashion via the old Third World transference of government through a coup. The July 14, 1958 coup was actually a massacre resulting in a firing squad of the Hashemite Iraq Royal family thus ending another Hashemite sphere of influence.

So, you can imagine the pressure King Abdullah I and later his son King Hussein placed on retaining a traditional Hashemite House. No Hashemites in the Arabian Peninsula and no Hashemites in Iraq. Abdullah’s I power base was the Bedouin Muslim Arab tribes of the area.

So check it out: Abdullah’s I British managed Arab Legion of Bedouins were the most successful of the invading armies entering the new Israel before there was a stalemate that resulted in Judea and Samaria and the eastern half of Jerusalem being occupied by Transjordan. A couple of years later Transjordan formerly annexed their occupied and renamed it the West Bank rather than forming a Palestinian State. Transjordan became Jordan divided by the east and west sides of the Jordan River.

Even though the annexed portion of the new Jordan was accepted by most of the world community as sovereign Jordanian land, King Abdullah I and later King Hussein (enthroned 1952) never allowed the refugees created from 1948 in occupied Judea and Samaria to become Jordanian citizens. Why?

The reason is simple logistical politics. If these Arab refugees who were slowly becoming known as Palestinians had Jordanian citizenship then the Hashemite Kingdom’s Monarchy would have a diminished power base to maintain the Hashemite House.

In 1967 Jordan was part of the Egyptian and Syrian invasions that was supposed to destroy Israel. Fortunately for Israel Egypt, Syria and a tentative King Hussein of Jordan were poorly organized in a unified effort to destroy Israel. A combination of misinformation and not following through between the three invading Muslim armies allowed an organized and discipline Israel Defense Forces to recover from invasion rapidly take Egypt’s Sinai, Syria’s Golan Heights and Jordan’s renamed West Bank which included the Holy and beloved Jewish Temple Mount and all of Jerusalem. The hypocrisy of Western governments undoubtedly because the other oil rich Muslim nations called and still this area the occupied West Bank rather than the retrieved Judea and Samaria.

The Israeli victory of 1967 galvanized the Arab League to form and Arab military entity named after the British Mandate of Palestine. Indeed the Hashemite Monarchy’s fear began to be realized once the Arab League became involved in forming groups of Arab-Islamic terrorists into the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The largest terrorist organization within the PLO was Fatah; ergo Fatah’s leader for the most part became the leadership of the PLO. That supreme leader Yasser Arafat became the PLO Chairman.

After the PLO began to be organized and weaponized it began to control the northern portion of Jordan along the Syrian border. The PLO had effectively begun to challenge King Hussein for control part of Jordan.

On September 6, 1970 militant factions of the PLO hijacked four foreign planes. They flew three to Dawson’s Field in PLO-controlled northern Jordan and one to Cairo. European governments secured the release of the hostage passangers (sic) by agreeing to release PLO terrorists from their prisons. The PLO then blew up the planes.

King Hussein decided it was time to act. Throughout September the Jordanian military launched attacks to push the PLO out of Jordan, attacks now called “Black September” by the PLO. Casualty reports are uncertain, but hundreds or perhaps thousands of PLO fadayeen were killed in the fighting and large numbers of Palestinian Arab civilians died as well. Arafat retreated to northern Jordan, close to his Syrian sponsors. Within 10 months the PLO were driven out of Jordan completely, and re-established themselves in Lebanon, a choice that led to eventual disaster for Lebanon. (Jordan Expels PLO in 1970; Palestine Facts)

Essentially Jordan began to view Arabs that call themselves Palestinians as a threat to the last of the ruling Hashemites.

Here is my thing though. It makes more sense to force full citizenship for Arab-Palestinians into a Jordan that was a part of the original British Mandate for Palestine then to force Israel to give up the Jewish heritage of Judea and Samaria. Jordan is a Muslim dominated nation that has a monarchy that claims descent from Islam’s prophet Mohammed.

Frankly the Palestinian-Arabs that would become the majority in Jordan would be foolish to depose the Hashemite Monarchy. Palestinian-Arab leadership under the PLO and the later Western created Palestinian Authority has been egregiously corrupt. The PLO/PA had pilfered money donated and taxed for a half a generation for leadership acquisition. Yasser Arafat died a millionaire not because of shrewd business decisions. NO! Rather Yasser Arafat died because he stole the money and placed it in European bank accounts (most likely Swiss, but I am not looking that up now).

I believe PLO/PA corrupt pilfering led with Palestinian-Arab dissatisfaction that led to a vote of pseudo-political majority that empowered Hamas. Hamas has diligently followed the Muslim Brotherhood paradigm of taking care of people rather than stealing from them. Even though Hamas was an Islamist offshoot of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood with radical theo-political ideas of governing with the purist Mohammedan paradigm, I am certain Palestinians would rather be represented by a Muslim giving organization than a Muslim (often secularist influenced) organization that steals for them and not providing a proper infrastructure of education, health and welfare.

The problem for Israel politically is that Hamas is not deceptive like the PLO/PA leadership. Hamas sticks to the original Arab-Islamic terrorist paradigm of the destruction of Israel and all Jews. The PLO/PA utilizes deception by telling the West and Israel that they recognize Israel as a nation but not as a Jewish State and then turn around and tell PLO/PA citizens that Israel’s destruction is still the goal.

And so, whether the paradigm is to create a sovereign Palestinian State by honest politics or deceptive politics, the paradigm is still the destruction of Israel. So we in the West and in Israel have to ask this question: Why in the world would we permit a Jew-hating sovereign nation to be created within the land of Jewish heritage when there is already an Arab sovereign state that was carved out of the old British Mandate for Palestine today called Jordan?

I say through the PLO/PA leadership out the door, jointly decimate Hamas and give Arabs that are descendants of fleeing refugees originally created by invading Arab armies the choice of living in Arab Jordan or Jewish Israel. If the choice is Jewish Israel, then even a fraction of disloyalty to sovereign Israel would mean a life in an enemy of the State prison camp. Now I say an enemy of the State prison camp because I doubt any other Arab nation would receive a hostile Arab into their nation. I mean history has proven that since at least 1948. I would suggest Gaza be turned into that enemy of the State prison camp.

The prison camp might sound harsh; however think about American history. As America spread to the western side of the North American continent, the Native American population began to exist as the minority. Naturally the minority Native Americans were not pleased with the Americans slowly usurping their land divided roughly by tribal spheres of influence. I say “roughly” because I am certain Native Americans would ever attest there were borders between tribes; however the fact is if one tribe slipped into another tribes area of hunting confrontation would result. Or if tribes has evolved a long standing conflict that often resulted in mutual raids upon other tribes, the semblance of war occurred. I mean the Native Americans of the American West saw the expansion of Americans coming and did not unite to fight as one but rather fought on an individual tribal basis until it was too late for a unified effort to be workable.

So what would the American government do with the defeated Native American tribes? Let’s be serious, there were thoughts of Native American extermination. Thank God wiser minds prevailed somewhat. Native Americans were rounded up and placed on Reservations. In essence these Reservations were enemy of the State prison camps that had a modicum of self-government but with definite American authority to keep Native Americans docile. This docility was arguably an act of alienation that caused a huge amount of bitterness among Native Americans which evolved into other social problems among them in the 20th century. On the other hand Tribes that did not disappear via intermarriage with the “white-eyes” received a limited amount of a status of a sovereign nation that came with rights that have been upheld by Federal Courts over the years. Some would say those court victories have evolved into the revenge of the Indians (Native Americans); i.e. Gambling.

If Muslim-Arabs were less interested in destroying Israel and hating Jews, capitalism could be a boon as well as it has become for many Native American tribes. Perhaps enemy of the State prison camps could evolve out of a hate-mill and into a prosperity training camp. The choice of living an oppressive life or seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of prosperity could be made. Of course ever since the seeds of hate were planted by Grand Mufti Mohammad Amin al-Husayni (or Husseini - influential circa 1921 – 1974) Muslim Arabs have chosen hate over advancement.

The UN, USA, EU and Russia have been pushing to force Palestinian-Arab sovereignty in Judea-Samaria and Gaza. I say Israel needs to push back and arbitrarily force a Jordan is Palestine solution for the betterment of Israel.

These thoughts have been inspired by an email I received from Elie Klein about a petition that was circulated Aryeh Eldad that is to be delivered to the Jordanian Embassy in Israel today May 24, 2011. I wish I could have participated in that petition but I missed it. In my disappointment I looked into the history of Jordan’s existence which really turned out to be an exploration of the Hashemite House from the Hejaz (Saudi Arabia today), Syria, Jordan and Iraq. Frankly my search of the Hashemite House and that family’s desire to be the representative of Arabs leads me to further believe the Hashemite Kingdom should embrace these descendants of displaced Arabs, especially since the Hashemites were involved in displacing Arabs from the old British Mandate for Palestine when Israel became independent. The Hashemite Monarchy should embrace that Jordan is Palestine.

The recent revolutions in Arab countries of the Middle East prove that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not the main problem of the region. Any attempts to force Israel to create or accept a Palestinian State in the West Bank and Gaza will only enhance the instability in this region. The world-community is experiencing growing frustration in the face of the recurrent failures to resolve this conflict. These failures are the result of a miss-diagnosis of the roots of the conflict. If it was in fact a territorial conflict between two nations over a piece of land, the logical solution of division of the land would be the true cure to the conflict and could have been achieved long ago.

But this conflict is not a territorial conflict, but a religious war – a clash of ideologies. As such, the Palestinians will never be ready to recognize Israel as a Jewish State and declare the end of the conflict.

Nevertheless, the world-community wants to grant the Palestinians a state in an attempt to end the conflict. Such results can be achieved only if the world-community recognizes the historical, demographic and geopolitical fact that the Palestinians already have a state in Jordan. Jordan is the national state of the Palestinians. It was created by giving the Arabs 75% of the area that was allocated to become the Jewish Homeland by the League of Nations in San Remo after World War I. It is also important to remember that some 80% of the Jordanian citizens today are Palestinians. As King Hussein – the late father of King Abdulla the 2nd - said time and again: "Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan."

Prof. MK Arieh Eldad, Chairman of Hatikva Party (part of the National Union Knesset Faction) has launched an international Internet petition signed so far by more than 6,000 people from all around the globe, calling on King Abdulla to declare Jordan as the National Palestinian State. If he chooses not to do so, he may find himself confronting his citizens in Amman's streets and circles within Jordanian society that will demand it. The petition will be delivered to the Jordan Embassy in Israel on May 24th, on the occasion of the Jordanian Independence Day.

On that same day, similar petitions will be delivered to Jordanian Embassies in the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Norway, the Netherlands and Slovakia.

We are sure that "Jordan is Palestine" is the only realistic alternative to the failing "Two States" solution.

My friends; Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan. I just need to be clear the path I have taken to arrive at this conclusion is probably not the same path that Prof. MK Aryeh (or Arieh) Eldad has used. After all Eldad is an Academic and a politician that has studied the Two-State Solution of “Jordan is Palestine” with more resources than I would ever hope to read.
